Community and Service for 2011-2012
Community and Service is changing for the 2011-2012 school year.
Beginning with the 2011-2012 school year, students will no longer be required to complete community and service booklets. Instead all students at Godwin will participate in at least 8 service learning activities related to their 8 subject areas. The majority of these activities will occur during the school day. Students will also be encouraged to participate in the many school wide activities planned for the school and its surrounding community. At the end of the year, students will write a reflective essay about the impact they had on their school and community.

Students may continue to document additional community and service hours if they wish.  After school clubs and sports teams can be counted as 15 hours each. Community sports teams, Scouts, church activities and other community events can also be counted. Students who complete 50 or more hours will receive a special community and service award at the end of the school year. Students may begin Community and Service activities after June 17, 2011. Parents and students may check the Godwin website during the school year and click on the IBMYP link for community and service opportunities.

See the community and service information under department files at the bottom of this webpage.
